I Am An African
As you read this, a mental image has immediately formed in your mind. You are just missing specifics for a fuller picture. Is she Zulu or Xhosa, Pedi or Sotho? Perhaps your thinking extends beyond South Africa’s borders to Malawi, Zambia or Zimbabwe?
My daily struggle
I was chatting to a colleague of mine recently and I came to the realisation that often when it’s time for prayer requests many Christians do not ask for prayer regarding their daily struggles. In fact it seems like they are oblivious to them. I’ve noticed that they want prayer for external items ie. a car, a husband, a house, a new job…the list goes on and on, and this bothers me to a certain degree, as we hardly confess our sin to one another and ask for prayer regarding our daily struggles.
I Parted With My Fro
After months of going back and forth on what to do with my hair, in September 2014 I made a decision, I had had it with my unhealthy relaxed hair.
My poor husband was so forbearing and patiently entertained me as I showed him countless pictures of potential hairstyles and toyed with the idea of shaving it all off. Finally, I made up my mind – I was going to go bald. I even coerced hubby to cut it himself (bonding exercise) so he wouldn’t fall off his chair one day when I returned home –ahem…hairless.
